Applications

A-36 is considered a "workhorse" grade and is widely used in many applications. It is commonly used in structural applications, heavy construction equipment, building structures, heavy duty anchoring systems, truck frames, poles, liners, conveyors, boom sections, structural steel shapes, and applications that require high strength per weight ratio.

60'

Material

  • Yield Strength: 36 KSI
  • Ultimate Tensile Strength: 58 to 80 KSI
  • Elongation in 2": 23%
  • Conforms to:
  • ASTM A36

Measurement

Stocked in 20', 30', 40' and 60' Lengths

Applications

Dual-certified carbon hot-rolled steel. It meets the requirements of both ASTM A36 and ASTM A572-50. Its strength, formability, and excellent welding properties make it suitable for a large variety of different applications. Yield strength is increased to 50,000 psi (higher than that of a normal A36). Because of this, it is often used in structural applications that require higher strength than standard A-36.

60'

Material

  • Yield Strength: 50 Min. KSI
  • Ultimate Tensile Strength: 65 KSI
  • Elongation in 2": 21%
  • Conforms to:
  • ASTM A36
  • ASTM A572-50

Measurement

Stocked in 20', 30', 40' and 60' Lengths

Applications

A high-strength, low-alloy steel plate utilized primarily in structural applications such as bridges and buildings. This grade is designed for projects requiring atmospheric corrosion resistance. Its advantage is its weathering ability. When properly exposed to the atmosphere, this steel plate can be utilized in its bare condition (unpainted).

Material

  • Yield Strength: 40-50 KSI
  • Tensile Strength: 63-70 KSI
  • Elongation in 2": 21%
  • Conforms to:
  • ASTM A588
