Applications

A-36 is considered a "workhorse" grade and is widely used in many applications. It is commonly used in structural applications, heavy construction equipment, building structures, heavy duty anchoring systems, truck frames, poles, liners, conveyors, boom sections, structural steel shapes, and applications that require high strength per weight ratio.

Material

  • Yield Strength: 36 min. KSI
  • Ultimate Tensile Strength: 58-80 KSI
  • Elongation in 2": 23%
  • Conforms to:
  • ASTM A36

Measurement

Applications

Dual-certified carbon hot-rolled steel. It meets the requirements of both ASTM A36 and ASTM A572-50. Its strength, formability, and excellent welding properties make it suitable for a large variety of different applications. Yield strength is increased to 50,000 psi (higher than that of a normal A36). Because of this, it is often used in structural applications that require higher strength than standard A-36.

Material

  • Yield Strength: 50 min. KSI
  • Ultimate Tensile Strength: 65 KSI
  • Elongation in 2": 21%
  • Conforms to:
  • ASTM A36
  • ASTM A572-50

Measurement

Applications

Quenched and tempered high strength alloy steels produced to minimum mechanical properties with a yield strength nearly 3 times that of A36. This material offers high strength plus good workability and weldability with minimum pre-heating. Used extensively for component parts and as liners for construction equipment, mining machinery, truck bodies, chutes, and wear plates.

A514-Grade B has a lower alloy content than the original T-1, but the same strength. Lowest priced of the T-1 alloys.

Material

  • Yield Strength: 100 min. KSI
  • Tensile Strength: 110-130 KSI
  • Elongation in 2": 16%
  • Conforms to:
  • ASTM A514

A514-Grade H has an alloy content between Type A and the original T-1, but the same strength. Lowest priced of the T-1 alloys.

Material

  • Yield Strength: 100 min. KSI
  • Tensile Strength: 110-130 KSI
  • Elongation in 2": 16%
  • Conforms to:
  • ASTM A514

Measurement

Applications

Medium carbon, high-strength, quenched and tempered chrome-moly. It offers an exceptional amount of sliding and impact abrasion resistance at a moderate cost. It can be used as a basic component, or as a liner in all types of mining and material handling equipment.

Material

  • Yield Strength: 140 KSI
  • Ultimate Tensile Strength: 180-200 KSI
  • Elongation in 8": 14.8%

Measurement

Applications

Specifically designed to reach an amazing nominal harness of 500 BHN. Built-in high strength and superior through-hardness gives it exceptional resistance to both impact and sliding abrasion. This combination makes it a good choice as a liner for all types of mining and material handling equipment – off road dump bodies, chutes, bins, silos, gates, buckets and hoppers.

Material

  • Yield Strength: 187 KSI
  • Tensile Strength: 247 KSI
  • Elongation in 8": 11.1%
